ESG Research
What's the impact of government mandates for environmental sustainability reporting? How will ESG early adopters gain an advantage?
Digital Sustainability Innovation in Action
According to the latest market study findings by the Boston Consulting Group (BCG), sustainability is now at the top of corporate agendas worldwide, plus Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) goals have become a major consideration in forward-looking company's digital transformation programs.
In BCG’s latest research into digital transformations, more than 60 percent of survey respondents listed ESG factors as a primary focus or a key criterion for selecting and prioritizing digital initiatives, and more than 80 percent of companies plan to increase their investments in digital sustainability.
However, putting ESG at the top of the corporate priority list does not guarantee business outcome success.
The BCG research, which involved more than 850 companies worldwide, shows a clear link between digital capabilities and sustainability. Companies that are successful in their digital transformations are almost twice as likely as other organizations to see ESG goals as a key focus of digital initiatives.
Anytime, Anywhere Workplace Solutions
The ongoing adoption of flexible working models within the enterprise market has significant implications for typical IT organizations that must now support knowledge workers and front-line employees that operate outside the corporate network perimeter.
The global COVID-19 pandemic created IT networking and security challenges. The expansion of the distributed workforce, an increasing reliance on cloud computing infrastructure, and the requirement to securely connect online employees -- wherever they choose to work, at any given moment in time.
The ESG market is nascent and subject to shift and evolution as CIOs and CTOs decide how they foresee utilizing these edge-computing technologies in the most effective manner. The early adopter of SD-WAN technologies has an additional issue to address. Most of these deployments were assumed to support a hub-and-spoke central location and branch-office network architecture.
Pervasive work-from-home employee trends have disrupted that prior IT organization assumption. Now is the time to consider plan-B solutions that are better suited for the Anywhere, Anytime Workforce. This creates a significant upside growth opportunity for IT vendors with strategic foresight.
